Testing of electric wheelchairs-braking performance testing

2020-06-17

The users of electric wheelchairs are mostly the elderly and disabled people with physical dysfunction. During the driving process, the braking effect of the electric wheelchair is directly related to the safety of the users.

(1) Slope performance test

After adjusting the brake of the electric wheelchair properly and braking tightly, place the direction of the electric wheelchair on the test platform with adjustable slope (all wheels are on the inclined plane), and the direction wheel or casters of the electric wheelchair should be placed Go straight forward normally. Change the tilt angle of the platform until one of the following:

① The wheels of the electric wheelchair begin to roll down along the platform (braking failure);

② The electric wheelchair begins to slide along the platform (the friction between the wheel and the platform is insufficient);

③ Instability of the electric wheelchair (one or more wheels are lifted off the platform. The above test is repeated three times, and the test results are recorded).

(2) Running brake detection

Drive the electric wheelchair on a horizontal road at maximum speed, and then make the brakes produce the maximum braking effect, and maintain this condition until the electric wheelchair is forced to stop. The above test is repeated three times, and the maximum speed, braking distance and other phenomena appearing in the test are recorded.

(3) Brake performance test after temperature increase

Start the electric wheelchair on the horizontal road with maximum acceleration, stop it as soon as possible after reaching the maximum speed, repeat this process ten times as soon as possible, and then immediately perform the driving brake detection.
